Obituary for Doris J. Davis (Gravel)

THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF DORIS J. DAVIS

MORRIS – Doris J. (Gravel) Davis, age 79 of Morris passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Sunday, September 2, 2018. She was the widow of Robert T. Davis.

Doris was born September 11, 1938 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Real and Rose (Dashaies) Gravel. She was educated in local schools and was a longtime employee of Timex Corp. as a Quality Control, Supervisor. Doris was an outgoing person who loved gardening. Above all else, she enjoyed and spent as much time as she could with her family, especially her grandchildren. For Doris, being a “Grandma” was the best thing in the whole world. Doris made the world a better place for all of us and we are all better off and blessed to have had her in our lives.

Doris is survived by her sons, Daniel Davis of Morris and Gary Davis and his wife, Beverly also of Morris and her daughter, Traci Joseph and her husband, Matthew of Thomaston. She also leaves her grandchildren; Maddison, Jacob, Brianna, Michael and Carrissia and her siblings; Roger Gravel, Lucille Zarrillo, Alene (Joe) Bush, Jane Pomerlou, Denise (Kurt) Karpavich, Nancy Gravel, Vance Gravel, Dennis Gravel, and Paul Gravel in addition to many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Alice Gravel and brother, Marcel Gravel

Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Shrine of St. Anne’s Church 515 South Main St Waterbury at 10:00 a.m. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. There are no calling hours. The O’Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville, CT has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
