Obituary for Alma Thompson (Gray)

THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF ALMA THOMPSON

Blessed with 7 grandchildren and 4 great

OAKVILLE – Alma Thompson, age 85, of Oakville, passed away peacefully on Christmas morning at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of Saint Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Willis Thompson.

Alma was born on February 20, 1935 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of the late Louis and Martha (Daniels) Gray. She was a graduate of Leavenworth High school and was a long time Oakville resident. Alma was a loving and dedicated homemaker and once her children were grown, she began working again and spent many years working as a baker/cake decorator for various bakeries throughout the greater Waterbury area. She enjoyed camping and making arts and crafts and always looked forward to spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

The Thompson family would like to thank and acknowledge the doctors nurses and staff at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of Saint Mary’s Hospital for the exceptional love, support and care they provided to Alma and her family during her illness.

Left to honor Alma’s love and legacy are her sons; Kevin Thompson and his, wife Linda of Prospect, and Randy Thompson and his partner, Gary Robinson of Naugatuck. She also leaves her brother, Lester Gray of Wolcott and her adoring grandchildren; Jessica, Melissa, Kevin Jr, Joanna, Joshua, Ashley, and Josh as well as her great grandchildren Hailey, Hunter, Luke and Willis.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Thompson will be held on Tuesday, December 29th 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at the O’Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville, CT 06779. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Watertown. All governmental restrictions related to the COVID19 pandemic will be strictly enforced. Friends and relatives may visit with Alma’s family on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the service at 11:30 a.m at the funeral home.
