Obituary for Anita Kennedy

THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF ANITA KENNEDY.

CNA AT MIDDLEBURY CONVALESANT CENTER

WATERTOWN – Anita T. Kennedy, age 70, passed away peacefully at her brother in law’s home in Southbury on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the loving wife of David Kennedy.

Anita was born on November 7th, 1949 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of the late Peter and Lillian (Cipriano) Piscipo. Anita was a graduate of Crosby High School and worked as a beautician at Michael’s Beauty Salon in Waterbury. Anita always had a passion for caring for others which led her to go back to school to receive her CNA certificate. She spent many years working at Middlebury Convalescent Home until her retirement.

Anita enjoyed spending time at the beach especially in Maine and Rhode Island. She enjoyed taking trips to Ireland with her close friends, Jeff & Connie, and Billy & Noreen. Anita above all else enjoyed spending time with her family and always had a way of finding the good in other people. Anita was a talented cook and enjoyed cooking fine Italian meals for all of her family. She had a deep, unwavering Christian faith which surely kept her strong through her battle with cancer. She will be fondly remembered and missed by anyone’s life she has touched.

Left to cherish her memory and honor Anita’s love and legacy, besides her husband David of 22 years she leaves her daughter, Jodi DeLeo Thomas and her husband, Edward Jr. of Waterbury; her sister, Carol Pisciotti and her husband, Aldo of Waterbury; her brother in laws, Robert Fernandez of Wolcott, and Roger Kennedy and his wife, Patricia of Southbury; her sister in law, Nancy Dwyer and her husband, Tim of Austin, TX; her adoring grandson Edward Thomas III of Florida as well as many beloved nieces and nephews who she always enjoyed spending time with.
