Obituary for Charles Pedro

THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY CHARLES "CHUCK" PEDRO

OAKVILLE - Charles L. “Chuck” Pedro, age 92, of Oakville, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 5:20 pm. He was the widower of Rose A. (DiNunzio) Pedro.

Charles was born in Palmer, Massachusetts, the son of the late Antonio and Joanna (DosAnjos Ferreira) Pedro. He attended Leavenworth High School in Waterbury and enlisted with the U.S. Marines Corp in 1945 where he served for two years before being honorably discharged. Following his enlistment, he enrolled in
photography school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Charles and Rose married in 1955. Shortly thereafter they bought the Del-Mae Luncheonette in downtown Waterbury. Following that, he worked in sales until he began his career as a toolmaker, working for Toolcraft Engineering in Waterbury. Chuck will be remembered for his gregarious and outgoing personality and
infectious smile. He was a theater enthusiast where he directed, produced and acted in many productions in community theater including The Oakville Players and Waterbury Civic Theater. Some of his fondest memories were his travels to Portugal, California, Venezuela and The Bahamas to visit with friends and family.
He also enjoyed taking rides in his Fiat X19 along country roads with his Rosie. He was a member of the YMCA Indian Guides, entertaining numerous children at local summer camps.

His number one priority was always his family. Everything he did was centered around his wife and children. Chuck created cherished memories from Sundaypicnics in the backyard and weekends at Bantam Lake to singing silly songs and playing the bongos.

Chuck will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. He is survived by daughters Carla (John) Kennelly of Prospect, Paula (Jack) Lynch of Prospect, with whom he made his home, Thomas (Eva) Pedro of Oakville, and his wife Eva of Oakville, Joanna Weinz, currently residing in Litchfield and his
loving niece Linda Brites with whom he had a very special bond. His grandchildren Colin and Maeve Kennelly, Sean (Kiri) Lynch, Charlie (Jessica) Lynch, Julia (Sam) Hahn, Alex, Telina and Fiona Pedro and Hannah Mendez; great grandchildren Fyrn and Jack Lynch, Charlotte, Mae and Rosie Lynch, Charlie and Buster Hahn and multiple nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
