On behalf of BSA Troop 18, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Kurtz family on the passing of Dale. Many of us were fortunate to meet Mr. Kurtz and hold the highest respect for what he did in his career, family, and community. We know that he was a man of great kindness and generosity, and those traits also made him an exemplary ambassador for Scouting. We are so thankful he taught his children to live in the same manner. Thank you, Ken, for all you do for Troop 18 and bringing your dad's passion for youth, scouting, and service to Troop 18. Please accept our prayers and our love as you and your family mourn the loss of your wonderful father.

As scoutmaster, I had the opportunity to work many times with Dale over the years. Dale's patience and guidance working with our scouts was invaluable. So many Eagle Scouts and scout leaders will remember Dale for his love and devotion to scouting. We will all miss him.

Pat and Family,

Dale was a wonderful neighbor to us for over 35 years. He was such a kind and thoughtful man. We always looked forward to his visits, especially his annual Christmas visit. He was always willing to help and assist his neighbors. He truly was a great neighbor. We are deeply saddened by his unexpectant passing. You are in our prayers and thoughts during this time of loss. We will miss him very much.

Our condolences to Pat and the family on the sudden passing of a wonderfully spiritual person. Dale was a true friend who had strong morals. He was very dependable, committed and detailed. His humble service and love for the church, the town and his friends was so evident. He was always willing to help wherever the need arose.

May our condolences bring you comfort and may our prayers ease the pain of your loss.

To All My Scouting Family and Friends,

It is with great sadness and a broken Scout spirit that I pass along the news of the death of a dear Scouting friend and my Scouting mentor, Dale Kurtz of Bethlehem, Conn. at the age of 79. Dale is an Eagle Scout and professionally he was a pilot, flying many of the big commercial jets during his career. When I met Dale, he was already well know as the most experience advancement member in the newly formed Northwest Hills district, in conducting over 500 Eagle Scout board of reviews. When I joined the district advancement committee, Dale mentored me. My first Eagle board of review was in Goshen, Conn. with Life Scout McKay. With Dale at my side I was nervous, but excited when Dale said I was ready to conduct a board on my own. Dale remained active with the district advancement committee until his passing, processing more than 800 Eagle Scout applications, an accomplishment not achieved by many. Dale truly believed in the Scouting program, a supporter of district activities, and always helpful to whom ever asked. Dale earned the Council Silver Beaver in 1996 with the Algonquin district of the Long River Council now the CT Rivers Council. I will always remember the last time I spoke with him, at a round table meeting just two months ago. God's speed through those golden gates Dale...you have more than earned your Scouting wings. Thank you for the lessons you taught to so many...we will take from here and your legacy will carry on. Prayer of comfort and condolences to the Kurtz family from every Eagle Scout, Scout and Scouter. R.I.P. Dale L. Kurtz.

"You Changed our world....one Scout at a time."

Yours in Scouting,

Lonny

I am so very sorry to hear of Dale's passing. I just ran into him recently and it was so enjoyable to catch up and talk of memories of my father and Dale as boy scout leaders and brought back a ton of memories. What a great man and I am sure you all have amazing memories that I hope we can hear about at the memorial. God Bless.
