Devoted to her family

OAKVILLE - Dolores D. (Driscoll) Wills, age 90 of Oakville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was the widow of Raymond D. Wills.

Dolores was born on December 12, 1930 in North Bergen NJ the daughter of the late John and M. Claire (Atwood) Driscoll. She was raised in Waterbury and after the passing of her mother, was raised by her late grandmother, Beatrice (Dunn) Atwood. While raising her six children, Dolores went back to school and graduated from Central CT State University with a Masters Degree in Education. She became an Accounting Professor at Briarwood College in Southington for 19 years and was also a member of the CT Society of Genealogists. Her favorite pastimes included; spending time with her family, doing crossword puzzles and bird watching. Dolores will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her children; Claire (Nick) Ventre of Cincinnati OH, Carolyn ( Steve) Carbonneau of Watertown, Raymond (Theresa) Wills, Jr of Oakville with whom Dolores made her home, Gary Wills of Putnam, James Wills of Oakville and Brenda (Tim) Plaag of Berlin CT. Dolores and Raymond were blessed with 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, as well as many nieces, nephews, and beloved cousins especially her life-long best friend, Sharon Way.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wills will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St John the Evangelist Church 574 Main St Watertown at 10:30 a.m. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with the Wills family on Friday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the O’Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville CT 06779. We remain concerned about everyone’s health and safety during the pandemic, so we continue to require all visitors to wear a mask during indoor services whether vaccinated or not.
